Kids and Money Troubles

Dear Hal,

How should we as parents be handling this recent economic crisis? My husband thinks we should talk to our kids about our poor financial situation, but I think that is uncalled for. They are only 6 and 8 and they can’t possibly understand what is going on. Which one of us is right?

Brother Battles

Dear Hal,

I have gone through your material and feel calmer already. I have noticed one situation, however, where I still feel that old anxiety very strongly and I need help. When my two boys (9 and 7) are fighting with each other, I get paralyzed. I won’t tolerate them being cruel to each other, but I don't know how to settle this problem...especially when both of them deny the others’ accusations. Help!
