Here is an example Tip-of-the-Day entry

"It is not a bad thing that children should occasionally, and politely, put parents in their place."

- Sidonie Gabrielle Colette, French author (1873-1954)

Hal's Take: No one is perfect. We know this; our kids know this. Then why is it that we wince even at the thought of admitting this to our children? I have a feeling that it's because we somehow thing that in doing so, we undermine our own authority. This couldn't be farther from the truth. When your kids bust you on something that you know, in your heart, is accurate, you do a great disservice to both of you by dismissing it. You not only make them doubt their own (accurate) instincts, but you miss an opportunity to grow personally and relationally. Kids see through so many smoke screens and if you let them, they can teach you amazing things about yourself.
